In 2017, I graduated with a doctoral degree from the University of Iowa in Piano Performance and Pedagogy. I obtained a Master’s degree from The University of Toledo, and a Bachelor's degree in French and in Piano Performance from Ball State University after starting piano at 8 years old. Prior to beginning graduate school, I studied piano in Lille, France, for three years. Movement and creativity including Dalcroze techniques are incorporated into the lesson. Parental interaction is necessary especially when taking online lessons. Exploration in a variety of musical styles as well as other creative platforms such as composition and improvisation help these adolescents begin to find their own voice. Special music sharing events allow adults to explore musical topics and ideas in a fun and relaxed environment.
